Entry to politics:  RUMP and TLC
Grischun began carving a political career for himself within days of becoming a Talossan citizen.  Initially, he joined the RUMP party during the 39th Cosa and was appointed to serve as Minister of Culture by Seneschal Ieremiac'h Ventrutx.  He resigned his cabinet post and from the RUMP after only two months citing concerns over the internal operations of the party as his motivation for leaving.  He went on to form The Talossan League of Centrists (TLC), which was a short lived party that existed for the remainder of the 39th Cosa.  Grischun then joined Flip Molinar and the FGP for the electoral campaign to the 40th Cosa.
Grischun's initial entry to Talossan politics saw him joining the RUMP party during the 39th Cosa and being appointed to serve as Minister of Culture by Seneschal Ieremiac'h Ventrutx.

Fair Governance Party and V-Gate
He then left the RUMP to join The Fair Governance Party (FGP) for the general election to the 40th Cosa, however, towards the end of the election, the FGP collapsed with all members going their separate ways.  Grischun went on to join the Progressive Party.

Grischun joined The Fair Governance Party (FGP) during the general election to the 40th Cosa and was elected to serve as the vice-chairman of the party.  During the campaign, another FGP member, Viteu Marcianüs, got involved in a fierce argument with the leader of the Progressive Party, Owen EdwardsThis event led to Flip Molinar and Grischun making the poor decision to expell Marcianüs from the party.  These events (which were later dubbed V-Gate) led to weeks of hostility and anger from all sides.  The 40th Cosa election has since been remembered as one of Talossa's nastiest fought campaigns.  Eventually, the FGP collapsed with all members going their separate ways.  Grischun joined the Progressive Party and has been involved in Progressive politics ever since.
After joining the Progressive Party, he was seated in the Cosa for the first time with two seats.  He was later elected party leader in October 2010However, the party soon fragmented due to internal differences between membersThe core membership had changed from it's original line up and Grischun struggled to maintain a balance of ideals that appealed to the widening gap in party membershipIn the January 2011 election the Progressives suffered losses with seat numbers going down from 89 to 57.  Grischun resigned from the party and did not serve as an MC during the 42nd Cosa.

Progressive Politics and Serving in the Cosa
He returned to the Cosa chamber for the 43rd Cosa in November 2011, leading the Common Sense Party (CSP).  By mid-Cosa (March 2012), the Progressive Party was about to collapse having lost most of it's members.  He successfully negotiated a merger between his CSP and the PP to form the Common Sense Progressive Party (CSPP).  He then wrote to his old friend, Owen Edwards, asking him to return to the Kingdom (Edward's had renounced his citizenship back in 2009) to help rebuild the Progressive movement.  Grischun and Edwards managed to bring the Progressive Party back to health and successfully re-cemented the ideals of progressive politics.

In April 2016, he was appointed by Seneschal Cresti_Siervicül to serve as Minister of Culture for the third time.  Later that year, in the December 2016 election for the 50th Cosa, he was re-elected as Senator for VuodeDespite his name not appearing on the ballot paper, he was returned to serve as Senator for a second term receiving an overwhelming share of the local vote.

2014 Senatorial Election
After holding his seat in the Senate for 26 consecutive Clarks over a period of just over 3 years, he resigned in December 2017 as he could no longer afford enough time and attention to the post.  He then returned to the Cosa Chamber as an MC for the RUMP party.
Grischun announced his intent to contest the Vuodean Senate Seat in the spring of 2014 and subsequently campaigned and stood in the August 2014 election.  He won a narrow victory and was elected to serve as Vuode's Senator for the term spanning from the 47th Cosa to the 49th Cosa.

2015 Return to the RUMP
In 2019, RUMP was in the final stages of going defunct.  During this process, The leader of the party, Alexandreu Davinescu, abruptly resigned from the party which elevated Grischun to the role of RUMP leadership (and thus to the role of Leader of the Opposition).  Grischun resigned from the party prior to the final Clark of that session.  Nobody else stepped forward to assume the position and the party failed to register for the next election, which made Grischun the last ever leader of the RUMP.

In February 2015 Grischun announced his resignation from the Progressive Party to return to the RUMP Party, where his political career began six years earlier.  In a public statement, he said a "slow evolution of realisation has been going on in my mind for some time now" and stated that key differences between his views and the direction of the government were reasons for his decision.  He concluded that the RUMP was more in line with his political and ideological leanings than other parties.
A couple of months later he registered a new party, the Peculiar Nationalist Party (PNP), and campaigned for the 54th Cosa on peculiarist concepts (such as the rejection of Talossa's land claims and of the provinces as political entities) with moderate monarchist stances (such as the support for a purely ceremonial Monarch and the abolition of its veto powers). The PNP is notable for embracing the concept of civic nationalism, in which Talossan citizenship should be open to anyone who shares national values.

Éovart (Eðo) Grischun

Éovart (Eðo) Grischun (Edward (Eddie) Grice), b. 27 October 1984), is a citizen of Talossa and of the province of Vuode (since 20 February 2009). He has been involved in many aspects of Talossan life including national and provincial politics, national government and has been a contributor to Talossan culture in general. He is a former leader of the CSPP, PP and RUMP political parties, a multiple term Member of the Cosa, a multiple term Senator and has held numerous offices in various capacities including cabinet level positions. He is also a recipient of the Prime Minister's Patriotic Award.

Grischun is currently the leader of the Peculiar Nationalist Party.

Political Career

Grischun's initial entry to Talossan politics saw him joining the RUMP party during the 39th Cosa and being appointed to serve as Minister of Culture by Seneschal Ieremiac'h Ventrutx.

He then left the RUMP to join The Fair Governance Party (FGP) for the general election to the 40th Cosa, however, towards the end of the election, the FGP collapsed with all members going their separate ways. Grischun went on to join the Progressive Party.

After joining the Progressive Party, he was seated in the Cosa for the first time with two seats. He was later elected party leader in October 2010. However, the party soon fragmented due to internal differences between members. The core membership had changed from it's original line up and Grischun struggled to maintain a balance of ideals that appealed to the widening gap in party membership. In the January 2011 election the Progressives suffered losses with seat numbers going down from 89 to 57. Grischun resigned from the party and did not serve as an MC during the 42nd Cosa.

Grischun took a step back from politics (and Talossa in general) for the duration of 2013 when events in his personal life demanded his complete attention. He returned to activity in 2014 by launching a successful bid for the Vuodean Senate seat.

In February 2015, he announced his resignation from the Progressive Party to return to the RUMP Party, where his political career began six years earlier.

In April 2016, he was appointed by Seneschal Cresti_Siervicül to serve as Minister of Culture for the third time. Later that year, in the December 2016 election for the 50th Cosa, he was re-elected as Senator for Vuode. Despite his name not appearing on the ballot paper, he was returned to serve as Senator for a second term receiving an overwhelming share of the local vote.

After holding his seat in the Senate for 26 consecutive Clarks over a period of just over 3 years, he resigned in December 2017 as he could no longer afford enough time and attention to the post. He then returned to the Cosa Chamber as an MC for the RUMP party.

The current constitution of Vuode was primarily authored by Grischun and, as such, was sometimes referred to as 'The Grischun Constitution'.

Vuode Premiership

Grischun was elected to serve as Premier of Vuode in June 2013 and then again in February 2014. His latest term expired in September 2014. Due to restrictions written into the provincial constitution, he was not eligible to seek a third consecutive term.
