The "Super Tuesday" Act

Whereas, Provincial politics tend to get lost in Talossa's whirlwind of national politics, and Whereas, the RT Constituziun mandates certain provincial political laws already, Therefore, the Cosâ hereby approves the following act to rejuvenate, reorganize and re-something-else provincial politics. Article 88 of the RT Constituziun is rewritten to read as follows:

Art. 88. Provinces are cantons (or groups thereof) which are self-governing and autonomous. They are administered by constitutional governments elected democratically within the Province. Terms of office in provincial governments are fixed at regular one-year intervals, from 1 September to 31 August of the following year. All provinces must hold elections for governing officers once a year, during the entire month of August. All provincial elections are supervised by the Talossan Secretary of State. A single generic ballot shall be made available at cost by the Secretary of State, which can be used in any election in any province. The ballot shall have a write-in space for the voter to indicate his preference. Political parties will not appear on the ballot. However, in order to occupy their seats, parties must pay a fee of $1 and a 50-word (maximum) statement of party aims and principles, to the Secretary of State, This will enable each party to contest races in any and all provinces. Parties may optionally submit advertising to the Secretary of State, in the form of 10x7cm adverts. All such adverts will be printed on a sheet and distributed with the ballots. All provincial constitutions must comply with the terms of this Article.
