Ián Tamorán
Ián Munditenêns Triesoûrêt Tamorán (22 April 1945 - 22 June 2024) was a Talossan citizen from the province of Cézembre. A resident of England of Irish descent, he came to the wondrous Kingdom of Talossa in 2010/XXXI, attracted initially by the language.
Tamorán was appointed to the Uppermost Court on 31 May 2012/XXXIII, serving as Senior Justice between Tamorán dal Navâ's retirement and his own retirement on 31 March 2020/XLI. His tenure as Senior Justice was the longest of any other.
Subsequent to his retirement, he served as a FreeDem-aligned Senator for Cézembre between August 2020 and October 2023. He initially won a tight special election for Amada Merþedes's unexpired term over Xhorxh Pol Briga, going on to win a full term in his own right with an outright 2/3 majority of the first round votes. He had additionally served as MC in the 41st Cosa.
Noted for his various interests, Tamorán was a mathematician and computer scientist by trade (though educated at a time when no specific degree yet existed), and was a keen musician, composer, poet, and philosopher, often known by his unofficial title as the "Proud Philosopher of Talossa".
He passed away on 22 June 2024/XLV, months after his poem Avançamaintsch! had won the third El Pretz Per Tomas poetry contest.
