The Gandhi Bill
The Cosâ hereby expresses its heartfelt sorrow at the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, and expresses its condolences to his family and to the Indian people. We declare our utter condemnation and deplorement of all terrorist acts, while we affirm our continuing support for the attainment of a free homeland for the Sri Lankan Tamils, whose more extreme elements perpetrated this tragic assassination. The Cosâ furthermore commends the legacy of Rajiv Gandhi, who steered India away from the socialist bloc towards a more politically and economically open society, thereby setting an example for other Third World nations to follow.
