Political Career

In the Republic

Xheraltescu joined the Republic of Talossa at the same time his personal friend Óïn Ursüm became a citizen of the Kingdom of Talossa.

A long serving Deputy in the Chamber of Deputies in the Republic of Talossa, he served consecutively from June 2009 until the Chamber's final dissolution in 2011. During his time in the Chamber of Deputies, he has served as a government Minister, Tuischac'h and Seneschal respectively. Having resigned as Seneschal months before the event known as Reunision occurred, he served as Gödafrïeu Válcadác'h's Distain and the government's representative on the Reunision Committee.

Xheraltescu's first appointment was as Deputy Minister for Propaganda (under the Culture Ministry) for the Cinxh Government and was later appointed as Minister of Culture. Whilst Vercaria was in his final term as Seneschal, Xheraltescu served the Chamber of Deputies as its Tuischac'h, and stayed there until the election of President Miestra Schiva, when he was subsequently appointed Seneschal.

A founder of the Parti Federalista, Xheraltescu went on to join Schiva in the PVZT and refounded the ZRT with his colleague shortly before Reunision.

Post-Reunision

Xheraltescù served as Fiova's first elected Capitán, and has served in government as Distain. He is currently President of the Liberal Congress. On the 13th of July, l’Etats de Cézembre awarded Xheraltescù along with the other Cézembrean Reviensadeirs a Key to the Kingdom.

Following elections to the 45th Cosa, Xheraltescù was appointed Tuischac'h of the Cosa after leading the ZRT to second place and retaining its position as the second largest party represented in the Ziu. Throughout the term of the 45th Cosa he was responsible for sponsoring several pieces of legislation ranging from ZRT policies such as the creation of a Translator's Corps within the Büreu del Glheþ, legislation to remove the restrictions on micronational citizenship et cetera, to legislation eradicating the possibility of espionage in Talossa and legislation to separate the nonpolitical roles in government from the political frontline of party politics.

Departure from the ZRT

On the 4th of March 2014, Xheraltescu announced that he would be stepping down as Party Leader of the ZRT and was preparing his departure from Talossa's first republican party. Still an ardent republican, he indicated that he felt it was time to step aside for the good of both the party and himself, given that he wished to move on from the monarchy/republic debate and focus instead on issues that were more important to him as a liberal.[1]

Column

On the 21st of March 2014, Xheraltescu agreed to join Beric'ht Talossan as a regular columnist. His column is titled 'A Liberal Perspective', and endeavours to give an opinion on current issues or events in Talossa from the perspective of an annoying liberal. His contributions so far have included a view on civic tests, immigration, and more controversially an account of the government from his time as Distain
