Talossa lays claim (as the Pengöpäts Antarctic Territory) to that part of Marie Byrd Land in Antarctica which is not claimed by any other sovereign nation under the Antarctic Treaty System. This territory lies between 90°W and 150°W longitude, between the Chilean and New Zealand claims to that continent.
The climate in Pengöpäts is typically very cold, which aids in maintaining the thick and distinctive coating of ice that cloaks the never-seen Pengöpäts landmass.
