8RC44 — The Salman Rushdie Moral Support Act

Whereas Talossa has always stood firm in support of oppressed peoples around the world, and Whereas Islamic idiocy in the persons of the Ayatollah Khomeini and Cat Stevens (a.k.a. Yusuf Islam) is oppressing British novelist Salman Rushdie, the Talossan government hereby takes an uncompromising stand in support of Rushdie's rights to life, liberty and freedom of expression. We furthermore call on all Talossan citizens (and citizens of all nations) to boycott any bookstore which knuckles under to the pressure of terrorists and refuses to sell Rushdie's novel, The Satanic Verses. Our views on this subject will be communicated to the United Nations.
