Mic'haglh Autófil SMC EiP [1] (b. 13 Dec 1991/XII) is a citizen of Talossa and of the province of Belacostă. During the 57th Cosa, he served as Distain.

Talossan Biography

Mic'haglh Autófil, vaguely aware of the existence of Talossa for some time, decided to actually check out the community in 2021, while flying to his parents' home in Virginia for Christmas. After his period of prospective citizenship was completed -- during which he was one of the only applicants in recent memory to fill out the prospective citizen's questionnaire -- he was naturalized as citizen 551 on January 29, 2022/XLIII.

National Politics

In fairly short order, Autófil founded a new political party, the Partì da Reformaziun (Reform Party); Miestră Schivă described this in La C'hronica as "celebrating in the traditional manner". The PdR was founded as an alternative between the standoff between the Free Democrats and Talossan National Congress. Advocating for republicanism, Cosa reform, provincial mergers, and anti-isolationism, the PdR first entered the elections for the Belacostan Assembly before registering for the April 2022 general election shortly thereafter, with Caleb Frenibuerg joining Autófil on the party list. The PdR performed well for a first-time entrant, garnering 25 seats in the Cosa and 4 of 11 in the Belacostan Assembly. This performance was enough to make them, in the words of Ián Anglatzarâ, "the kingmaker of this election". [2] While Autófil was approached by TNC leader Breneir Tzaracomprada about forming a pan-Cosa "Government of National Action", he instead decided to negotiate with the FreeDems about forming a government (the TNC having 77 seats to the FreeDems' 76, thus giving the potential coalition a slim majority of 101 seats).

Prior to the inauguration of the 57th Cosa, Mic'haglh was appointed the Minister of Foreign Affairs on April 3 by outgoing Seneschal Txoteu Davinescu. Following the official election of Ian Plätschisch as Seneschal, he was appointed Distain, customary for the leader of a coalition's junior party. Additional posts taken on during the Second Plätschisch Cabinet are that of the Deputy Minister of STUFF for TalossaWare, Deputy Minister of Culture, and eventually Deputy Defence Minister under Cresti Nouacastra-Läxhirescu, following the latter's appointment as MinDef after the dismissal of Txoteu Davinescu. In his capacity as Foreign Minister, Autofil opened discussions with Ladonia, Molossia, and Liberland regarding diplomatic relations, as well as attempting to do so with Seborga and Westarctica. As Deputy MinSTUFF, he successfully oversaw the launch of the next generation of Talossan ID cards, using a design generated by both himself and Danihel Txechescu.
