Nomination of a Seneschal
Given the evenly-divided nature of the election, to avoid an unusual (and potentially messy and bitter) Seneschal election process the Free Democrats agreed to assign one of their seats to the Seneschal candidate from the TNC, Bråneu Excelsio.[1] This enabled TNC MCs to present a majority petition to name Excelsio as Seneschal, which they did on 31 October 2023/XLIV.[2] As per the terms of this agreement, Excelsio then resigned his single FreeDem seat, returning it to their party, where it was assigned to Miestră Schivă.
This proved unpopular with certain elements within the TNC, leading to the resignation of founder Breneir Tzaracomprada from his party in order to form the Royalist People's Party instead. Following various private criticisms and attacks launched at Excelsio by Tzaracomprada, the former resigned the Seneschalsqab, his Cosa seats, his TNC membership, and his Talossan citzenship on January 6th 2024/XLV.[3][4] In the wake of his departure, his Distain, þerxh Sant-Enogat, became Seneschal, ushering in the Sant-Enogat cabinet, which included Tzaracomprada, who had rejoined the TNC following Excelsio's departure.
