History

Founding and initial claims

On December 26th, 1979/I, King Ben declared his secession from the United States of America. His territorial claims initially extended no further than his bedroom, commensurate with the national motto that "a man's bedroom is his kingdom," but were almost immediately extended to the rest of his house.

The first year of Talossa was notable for numerous political upheavals within the very small country. In one of these, the Third Talossan Revolution, Ben annexed the whole of Antarctica and the entire country of Portugal while in the process of declaring Talossa a republic. When the country returned to dictatorship two weeks later, the claims were abandoned (although a portion of Antarctica would later formally become Péngöpäts Antarctic Territory).

Cheap Glory Act

3/16/1982/III Atatürk is annexed as Kemâl Atatürk State. Enver Hoxha State is also annexed.

Treaty of Shorewood

   4/17/1982/III          Formalizes the annexations and expands Kemâl Atatürk State and Enver Hoxha State,
             while also establishing Mussolini Province.

Cézembre

8/17/1982/III is annexed.

Edgewood Proclamation

1/26/1983/IV           Annexes the New Territories and the new province of Férénca Szálasi State, establishing
             mainland Talossa's basic boundaries.

1983 Land Reforms

 4/1/1983/IV         Flúviâ Territory is created from New Territories. Enver Hoxha State is incorporated into
           Vuode. Férénca Szálasi State is incorporated into the New Territories. Mussolini is
             expanded slightly into the New Territories.

Cantonization

   11/30/1984/V        Maritiimi Province is created from the New Territories (now called South Territory).
          Vuode cedes a small section of land to Mussolini, while both expand into the New
         Territories. Flúviâ Territory is incorporated into Atatürk.

1985 Land Reforms

  7/27/1985/VI         Maritiimi doubles in size into the South Territory, and Mussolini also expands into it
          significantly. Pórt Maxhestic is created from the South Territory. South Territory is
          renamed South-West Territory (later to be Maricopa).

5/31/1992/XI Bradford Province is created from within Vuode. 9/1/1992/XI Fabled Learning University of Neverending Knowledge (FLUNK) created from within

          Mussolini.

Second Cantonization

  4/2/1993/XII         Bradford Province returned to Vuode and FLUNK returned to Mussolini. Pórt Maxhestic
           merged with Maritiimi to create Maritiimi-Maxhestic.

9/1/1996/XVIIis created from Benito.
