Government and politics of Vuode

Government of Vuode

Vuode is governed by a direct democracy system.

Any citizen of the province may sit on the governing assembly, the Estats Xhenerais.

To sit on the assembly (as a Councillor), any citizen of the province needs only declare their intent to do so during an open declaration session, which takes place concurrently with each national general election.

Once each session of the provincial assembly is convened, the first order of business is to elect a Premier (executive head of legislature) and a Presiding Officer (chair and secretary of legislature).

Politics in Vuode

Due to the direct democracy system in Vuode, political parties have an extremely limited role in the province. Political parties, from time to time, appoint provincial representatives, but, their role is limited and somewhat symbolic.
