On January 1st, 2004, Quedéir Castiglhâ was appointed Prime Minister. Castiglhâ had been serving as Distain to Gödafrïeu Válcadác'h in a caretaker government, following the events of the Halloween Crisis.
Castiglhâ largely kept the same Cabinet as Válcadác'h, announcing that any official that wished to keep his post would be confirmed; Uglhán Cruceatúl, formerly of the RCT and now a PC voter, was picked to be the new Distain.
During the tenure of this Cabinet, the Republic seceded on June 1st, in the waning days of the 32nd Cosa; several Cabinet members would defect, including Cruceatúl, Michael Pope, Andreas Lorentz, Martì-Paìr Furxhéir and Tamorán dal Navâ. As a result, Castiglhâ would resign soon after.
