Éovart (Eðo) Grischun

Éovart (Eðo) Davíu Grischun (Edward "Eddie" David Grice, b. 27 October 1984), is a citizen of Talossa and of the province of Vuode. He has been involved in many aspects of Talossan life including party politics, government and culture.

Grischun became Talossan on 20 February 2009 and has been a highly active citizen since. He is a recipient of the Prime Minister's Patriotic Award, responsible for the Talossanity of Perla del Abaþ.

He is a regular user of the privately administered communication medium, Wittenberg, and is editor of Stil da Vida magazine. He holds positions in the New Citizens Committee, the Talossan Press Association, the University of Talossa and the Talossan Animal Protection and Zoological Society.

Extra-Talossan life

Early life and education

Éovart was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1984 and has resided there his entire life. He was raised in some of the roughest and most deprived areas of the United Kingdom where poverty, ill health, poor education, anti-social behaviour and gangfighting are rife. Luckily, his parents managed to get him into one of the better schools of Glasgow's east end, a Roman Catholic establishment with a strict but fair staff and headmaster, which ensured he was kept on the straight and narrow as he grew through adolescence.

He attended college in Glasgow's trendy west end, where he studied computer programming and technical support, achieving a Higher National Diploma.

Work and career

Grischun has followed his own career path in life, being self employed from the age of 19. He has owned and operated his own businesses in the construction and automotive industries. In summer 2011 he was forced to sell his business assets to save himself from going bust as the UK economy struggled in recession. He has been unemployed since, living off of savings and a small government benefit and taking it way too easy. He has never been rich, but has been comfortable enough with what he has had. He aims to make enough money one day to move himself and his family away from Glasgow.

Personal life and Family

Grischun lives with his fiancé and fellow Talossan Perla del Abaþ. He has one Dandelion, Avvi Grischun-Camerá and has two younger brothers with whom he is very close. He also has a good relationship with his mother, who lives in Birmingham, England.

He owns one cat (Sparkles) and a rescued border collie (Lucy).

Hobbies, interests and pastimes

Grischun has a wide range of interests and pastimes. He enjoys reading, particularly non-fiction, where his interests lie in, but not limited to, modern and ancient history (not so keen on the stuff in between), military history, naval architecture, engineering, computing, the physical sciences and human and animal biology. He highly enjoys reading about and watching documentaries on conspiracy theories, with the firm belief that to build an opinion on any given subject, one must listen to all possible sides of a story, no matter how bizarre.

In his late teens he began developing a taste for politics and in his early twenties he became a member and activist for a Scottish political party. His interest has since wayned after losing confidence and trust in the elected officials of the UK. Nevertheless, he is highly opinionated and whenever the news is on will normally be muttering something under his breath (often profanities) to whatever is being reported.

He likes spending a little time gardening and working on the odd carpentry project. From time to time he can also be found building a model aeroplane, battleship, etc. He once built an awesome Warhammer table which had to go for lack of space.

He has studied several martial arts, an interest introduced from the age of eight after his father enrolled him in Tae-Kwon-Do classes. He worked his way through gradings to achieve a red belt (one from black) before switching arts to Jeet-kun-Do. He did not like JKD, feeling it lacked in discipline compared to what he had already learned and so after a short spell he moved on to dabble in Mhai Thai kickboxing and Tang Soo Do as well as the weapon arts of Kendo and Silat before finally returning to Tae-Kwon-Do. He has not practiced in these arts since the age of 19. These days he prefers to practice T'ai Chi and yoga, in which he is self taught.

In 2012 he decided to become more active after a few years of being lazy. He took up cycling, running and plays 5-a-side football (soccer).

Grischun is currently training to take part in the 2013 Tough Mudder event [1].
