Senator Lüc Iánescu-Braneusefiglhëu da Schir, O.Be. (Luca Badin, b. December 28th, 1997) is a Talossan citizen from the province of Benito. He is the current leader of the Moderate Radical Party of Talossa
He was granted citizenship on March 21st, 2012/XXXIII.
Political Career
While his political career actually started among the ranks of the RUMP, he quickly moved towards the Moderate Radical Party of Talossa, of which he is the current Party Leader. He also served as Party Whip for the 46th Cosa and as Party Secretary between the 46th and the 48th Cosas.
Cosa
He served as MC during the 44th, 45th and 46th Cosa, representing the MRPT. During his tenure, he has never missed a single vote.
Senate
Da Schir announced his candidacy to Benito's Senate Seat on July 23rd, 2014, in the province's first election to a full senatorial term since 2012, when Iason Taiwos was elected. He won the election unopposed with nine votes.
Government
46th Cosa (STUFF)
Da Schir served as Minister of Stuff during the 46th Cosa.
47th Cosa (Prime Minister)
During the 47th Cosa, Lüc da Schir served as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Talossa, leading a coalition formed by MRPT, ZRT, Liberal Congress and Progressives.
At just 16 years, 8 months and 22 days of age he is the youngest Talossan ever to be sworn in as Seneschal, and the third of thirty-four Seneschais to hail from the province of Benito, the previous being Thomas Buffone over twenty-two years before.
He also served as Attorney-General pro tempore between his dismissal of the previous A-G Magniloqueu da Lhiun to Txec Róibeard Nordselva's appointment, for a week and a half in mid-January 2015. He took on the job again in April 2015 when, at the Cosa's dissolution, Nordselva resigned to return to his job in the Cort dels Edilicieux.
From May onwards, he also had to fill in for Owen Edwards' absence from the Government and replaced him as caretaker Minister of Finance, holding de facto three portfolios simultaneously for about two months.
48th Cosa (Distain, Finance)
Lüc da Schir served as Distain (Deputy Prime Minister), inside a coalition with the same composition of the previous one. He also held the portfolio of the Ministry of Finance, thus prepared an unusual second Budget in a row, in an initially temporary arrangement.
Provincial
Da Schir served as Maestro of Benito for more than a year from July 22th, 2013 to October 22th, 2014, when he resigned following his election as Senator.
He has been a Member of the Benitian Legislative Chancellery since June 2012, and has served during the 44th, 45th, 46th, 47th and 48th Cosa.
He is also the current Arvitieir Prima of Benito, following Istefan Perþonest's resignations.
He has been awarded his province's greatest honour, the Order of Benito, on April 29th 2015.
Journalism
He is currently the chief editor of the Talossan Observer news company, which he founded in the late March 2012. Due to a chronical lack of time and to his involvement in national politics, however, any publication is currently suspended.
He also contributed to the first issue of Preßeu Zespenat with an article about his last thoughts as Prime Minister.
Military
Lüc da Schir serves as bandsman tubist in the 1st Platoon of the Zouaves of the Royal Bodyguard with the grade of Corporal.
Personal Life
Lüc is an IT student in his hometown of Pordenone, Italy, where he is also representing 1550 schoolmates on the school's board as one of the four School Representatives. Da Schir has been playing the trumpet since 2008. Other hobbies of him include PC gaming and skiing. His favourite sports are tennis and rugby (a sport he has always loved but never played seriously). He is a keen supporter of the Australian two-time Grand Slam champion Lleyton Hewitt, and counts among his favourite players the Serb Novak Djokovic and the Swiss Roger Federer. He is a supporter of the Guinness Pro 12 side Benetton Treviso and always follows all the matches he can during the RBS Six Nations.
