Second Da Schir Cabinet
The second cabinet led by Seneschal Lüc da Schir came to power after elections to the 50th Cosa and is currently still in office. Technically it is the third Da Schir cabinet as da Schir became acting Seneschal by default after the resignation of his predecessor, Sir Cresti Siervicül, UrN on 1 January 2017/XXXVIII. Sir Cresti resigned in the aftermath of the elections, the results of which took very long to be certified, to allow his presumptive succesor to take over. Da Schir had been Distain under Sir Cresti. Da Schir was re-appointed on 31 January by His Majesty, King John I. The others members of the cabinet only then became ministers. The cabinet is supported in the Cosa by a coalition of Da Schir's own party, the MRPT and the FreeDems, led by Munditenens Tresplet.
The government enjoyed a nominal parliamentary majority of 52 seats in the Cosa (126 to 74), and five out of eight Senators belonged to Government parties.
