Revision as of 12:09, 20 November 2023
The Cabinet of Bråneu Excelsio is the current government of Talossa. Excelsio was appointed Seneschal by King John on 31 October 2023/XLIV, after the Talossan National Congress clinched a deal with the Free Democrats just in time to avert a contested election during the First Clark. Excelsio was temporarily given one seat from the FreeDem Cosă allocation, putting the TNC over the threshold to present an appointment petition. In return, the two parties mainly agreed not to unilaterally legislate on the Chancery and Monarchy, in addition to setting up a joint committee on common sense Organic reform.
Seneschal Excelsio appointed his Cabinet on November 12th, with the incumbent ministers continuing on until then, with the exception of outgoing Prime Minister Breneir Tzaracomprada in his other role as Immigration Minister; Tzaracomprada resigned from the TNC and the Cabinet in dissent at the deal, and Excelsio exercised the functions of acting Immigration Minister until Þerxh Sant-Enogat's appointment.
The Excelsio Cabinet is technically a minority government - the first in Talossa since the 53rd Cosa - as it only holds 100 seats in the Cosă; however, as long as all of its MCs support it, it cannot lose a vote of confidence, as that would require the No votes to outnumber the Yes votes.
